Counselling and psychotherapy offer you the time and space to explore issues that are causing you difficulty, in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.
I see counselling as a shorter-term process working, often working with a specific issue. Psychotherapy works at a greater depth to understand how underlying patterns of behaviour that you have developed in the past might be interfering with your life in the present. Through gaining this awareness you can start to make longer-lasting changes.
Building a relationship is key to our work together, so it is important for you to choose someone that you feel comfortable working with. I call the first session an assessment session as it the chance for you to decide if I'm the right person for you to work with. We will regularly review our work together.
